About the Independent

The Lancaster Independent is an online newspaper for Lancaster, written by people who live here. We cover the city and the county: what gets decided, what opens, what closes, who’s playing and what’s worth your weekend.

How it works

Our stories come from local contributors. Every story is read and approved by the editor before it’s published. Opinion pieces are written by readers and are always labelled as opinion.
