This week at City Hall: Oct. 12 to 16

What Lancaster's public bodies take up this week, and how to show up: a city financing request for Willow Valley Communities, a school board work session, and the county commissioners' weekly meetings.
Tuesday is the busy night. Lancaster City Council and the School District of Lancaster board both meet at 6:30 p.m. Most agendas for the week had not been posted as of Thursday, Oct. 8.
Lancaster City Council: a financing request for Willow Valley
Council holds its regular meeting, where it takes official action, Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. The city had not posted the agenda as of Thursday.
One item came through council's Oct. 5 committee meeting, which the city describes as a work session where no action is taken: a resolution authorizing a financing project of the Lancaster Municipal Authority for Willow Valley Communities. The authority, formed by the city in 1961, helps qualified nonprofits obtain tax-exempt financing, according to the city's website. Its board met Oct. 1 to consider Willow Valley's financing proposal. The city's notice did not describe the project or the amount.
The committee agenda also listed a resolution to sell city vehicles; resolutions backing state Local Share Account grant applications by the YWCA Lancaster and the city; a request for a state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources grant to study a pool; and the nominations of Kyle Armor to the Redevelopment Authority and the Land Bank Authority and of Alexander King to the Land Bank Authority. The Oct. 13 agenda will show which of these come up for a vote.

Last week, all nine department requests on Wednesday's agenda, from $4.68 million in federal housing grants to a grant application for improvements at Buchmiller Park, were first presented at Tuesday's session.
